Social & Behavioural Problems among School Going Adolescents of Garhwal region of Uttarakhand

Background: Mental health disorder is a major cause of impairment in youth aged between 9 to 17 years as one every fifth has mental disorder. In India, the prevalence problems among adolescents 14.3%. Objective: To find out proportion social and behavioural their association with sociodemographic factors. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried 150 school going (11-17years). All participants were recruited through non-probability sampling technique. Data collected Google Forms. For assessing problems, Strength Difficulty questionnaire (SDQ) used. Result: There 76 (50.7%) males 74 (49.3%) females this study. 16% children categorized “abnormal”, 12% borderline 72.% normal for based on scores SDQ. The findings have implications that gender do play role affecting status.Conclusions: are most common highly prevalent disorders India. addressing psycho-social there dire need counsellors. Training parents well teachers should be conducted timely intervention.
